Terms and Conditions
- It is recommended to back up your device before any repair. Company cannot be held liable for any data loss that may occur during a repair.
- If the requested repair requires labor and/or parts not specified, company may seek your approval for a revised estimate.
- All repairs are recorded when it is reasonable to do so. All recordings made this way are the intellectual property of SFE Tech and may be used at their discretion for any reason.
- In the event your device needs excessive cleaning or causes the work area to need excessive cleaning, you will be subject to a cleaning fee and your device may be held as collateral until such fee is paid.
- All Jobs must be collected within 30 days of completion, unless prior arrangement has been made. Jobs that are not collected in this period may be deemed as “Uncollected Goods” (Uncollected Goods Act 1995), and/or may incur a storage fee. Uncollected Goods may be sold/disposed of after the required time has elapsed.
- Liquid damaged devices are worked on for data recovery only. We will not repair a device that has had signs of liquid damage. Liquid damage can cause problems in the future on devices due to corrosion reappearing. You agree that you do not hold company or its staff liable if your device stops working after a data recovery service.
- When a phone is dropped, it can sometimes cause microscopic fractures in the board that may cause problems only after a board is removed or repair completed. This may result in different problems arising.
- If your device is brought to company in a non-working condition and we are unable to test the device to ensure other functions are working, company will not be held liable for any other functions not working after the repair. We will notify you and you can approve or reject to repair the additional issue at additional cost.
- All repair times given are estimates only and cannot guarantee a particular repair time frame. When parts are required we cannot guarantee delivery times as shipping is out of our control.
- By using company service you acknowledge that your manufacturer warranty may or may not be voided and do not hold company or it’s staff liable for voided warranties.
- You agree that if during the repair the technician positively identifies any liquid damage inside the device or any liquid sensors which have been triggered, there will be no warranty on any service or part installed into the device as liquid damage can cause issues to arise unexpectedly long after the damage has been done in places unrelated to the liquid damage.
- “No fix-no fee” policy applies to labor portion of charges, and enough of your transaction to cover cost of parts and shipping will be retained at the discretion of SFE Tech. Accessories and parts returned for reasons not related to warranty will incur a 10% restocking fee at the discretion of SFE Tech. Canceled repairs will be undone and all parts will be reclaimed before refund will be processed, and original parts will be reinstalled if serviceable and safe to do so. If repair is fully completed, refund will only be granted under warranty conditions in lieu of repair at the discretion of SFE Tech.
- You agree not to hold SFE Tech liable for any information not received or understood as it relates to your repair, provided that an authorized representative attempts to make a “good faith” effort to communicate such information. For this purpose “good faith efforts” include, but are not limited to, emails sent to an email address provided which is invalid or which are not received or read, phone calls which are unanswered and unreturned, and voicemails which are not listened to. Situations arising from or similar to you or others interrupting an authorized representative of SFE Tech or timing communications with such representative, coincidentally or otherwise, in such a way that makes such good faith efforts impossible still constitutes a good faith effort.
- In the event that any term, condition, or policy changes, any changes made shall automatically go into effect in favor of the customer unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Example 1: SFE Tech extends their repair warranty from 90 days to 180 days. A customer had their device repaired 120 days ago. That customer is covered under the new warranty by default.
Example 2: SFE Tech reduces their repair warranty from 90 days to 45 days. A customer who had their device repaired 60 days ago is still covered under the original 90 day warranty.
Example 3: SFE Tech extends their repair warranty from 90 days to 1 year, and specifies that any existing warranties are extended to 180 days. A customer who had their device repaired 181 days ago is not under warranty.
- Customers will not receive remote services to their machines without a card registered on file with SFE Tech. This is in order to prevent “dine and dash” style circumstances, as remote services are charged hourly and we cannot be certain how long a given service will take prior to connecting. Any customers enrolled in any subscription service will always be eligible for remote services for this reason.
- Any repair requiring parts to be ordered will not proceed until the initial repair charge is paid in full. Payment time frame for additional parts required can be negotiated during the repair, but generally the more expensive the part the more it will be expected or required that the part be paid before it is ordered. This process is in place in order to prevent needing a deposit on repair services.
